Why I’m No Longer Hesitant to Ask for Help
Over the last three weeks, I’ve been navigating my busy household without the help of my usual support system, and it hasn’t been easy!
After the first few days, managing everything—from work to the daily demands of running a home—started to become overwhelming. The laundry piles, dishes stacked higher than usual, and the pressure to keep it all together felt heavy.
If you had asked me a few years ago, I would have tried to manage everything on my own, pushing through the exhaustion without asking for help. I thought it was a sign of failure if I couldn’t do it all.
But here’s the thing—I’ve learned so much since then. The new me knows that asking for help is not a weakness, but an essential part of self-care.
I’m telling you this because I know many parents struggle with the idea of asking for help. Asking for help is about creating balance and prioritizing your well-being so you can show up as the best version of yourself for your family.
Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness
You don’t have to do it all
It’s ok to ask for help
You deserve to prioritize yourself.
Remember, you don’t have to do it all alone. It's okay to lean on others. I encourage all parents I work with to embrace support when needed. Whether it’s hiring help at home, asking family members for assistance, or simply asking for a little breathing room, you deserve to feel supported.
