Feeling the Crunch? Tips to Get Your Summer Camp Plans on Track

March 25, 20252 min read

Yesterday as I was going through my day, it suddenly dawned on me that it’s already the end of March—and I haven’t even registered for any summer camps yet! I’m not sure how the time got away from me, but I found myself scrambling a bit, trying to catch up.

Time really does fly, doesn’t it? I’m sure many of you are in the same boat, feeling like summer is right around the corner, and we’re not quite ready. Between organizing activities, coordinating schedules, and making sure the entire experience is fun, safe, and meaningful for the kids, it can quickly become a lot to manage.

As I sit with these feelings, I realize that so many of us are balancing multiple responsibilities and feeling the crunch as we prepare for the summer ahead. I wanted to take a moment to share a few tips that have helped me stay grounded and organized.

  • Take it One Step at a Time
It’s so easy to get overwhelmed when you look at the big picture but breaking it down into smaller tasks can really help.

  • Start with a List
Make a list of the camps you're considering, along with their dates, costs, and key details, can help you get organized right from the start.

  • Set Priorities
Think about what matters most to your family. Is it proximity? Specific activities? Cost? Understanding what’s most important to you will help narrow down your options.

  • Remember, It’s Okay to Ask for Extensions
If you find yourself stuck on certain steps or struggling to decide, many camps will allow you to extend your registration time or work with you on certain details.

  • Give Yourself Grace

Lastly, it’s important to remember Perfection isn’t the goal—creating a meaningful experience for your child is.
